My love of the written word kicked in early and has never waned. I’m a writer/reader with a background in bookselling. I’m fairly certain I have words flowing through my veins.

Both my life and work experience have been varied and interesting, which greatly informs and enriches my writing. My curious and thorough nature comes in handy when researching and developing ideas.

As a London bookseller, I worked in several general bookshops, big and small. My Dad had great taste. He recommended Maigret by Simenon when I was a young teenager. I never looked back! This love of good crime & mystery fiction was honed and expanded when I worked for Murder One on Charing Cross Road and Murder Ink in Dublin. This was a vocation and I miss it. Being around books makes me happy – writing also makes me happy. I won a book review competition run by Harper Collins and relished writing online about London for visitors.

I have been an administrator and was lucky enough to take a few artistic detours along the way (picture framing, design & interiors and The English National Opera!) Working creatively and practically is something I really enjoy.

I have moved around some and called many places home (Denmark, Cape Town, London, Andalusia.) English is my first language, I speak several others. I love poetry and history books. Music means almost as much to me as literature does.

Being settled with my family is important to me – I’m mum to a teenage son. I love to cook and strive to be as good at it as my mother was.
